A Look At Conventional Realism
What is Realism?
- Realism is a type of gameplay used in the game Day of Defeat, it is a World War 2 mod for the game Half Life. It is not like Cal (Cyber Athletic league) at all, the difference is that in cal matches you go all out and try to capture the flags, but in a realism match you use tactics and stealth to complete your mission.
Who Attacks or Defends First?
- If your team starts on Axis side, then you are defending first, depending on how your leader likes to set up he could use a First Flag Defense or any other defense he thinks would be best for the map. If your team starts on Allied side, then you attack first, depending on who your leader is, he could all have u going random and separate ways, or he could have u separated into squads, his choice.
What is a Full Realism Match?
- A full match of realism is that each team plays a total of 2 Defensive rounds and 2 attacking rounds, after 1 attack round and 1 defensive round on the team u started on, u switch to the other team, so if u start out on allies and u play 1 defensive round and 1 attack round, you would then switch teams by your team going on axis and the axis team going on allies.
What is my Attacking Objective?
- On attack your main and only objective is to use tactics and stealth to wipe out the other team.
What is my Defending Objective?
- On defense your main objective is to stay in the spot that your leader put u in and wait for the enemy to come into sight, you do not want to charge for it wouldn’t do much good considering the fact that you would not be defending, the only time its “ok” and your able to rush the other team is if the attacking team have one player left.
